The Art & Science of Moving Forward

Have you ever asked yourself, am I moving in the right direction. Cameron Diaz, in all her wisdom, told Jimmy Fallon last week that if we aren't aging then we are dead. It's an interesting thought, which led me to this idea: your life is moving forward whether you like it or not, the direction that you are headed though, is determined either by design or by default.

Whether we like it or not, the winds of change and time are moving us forward. The question is not whether or not you are moving forward, the question is, what direction am I heading? We have spoken before about taking responsibility, and about understanding where you are right now so that you can understand the distance between where you are and where you want to be... but today I hope you would ponder this... what are you doing with this information? What are you doing to re-orient your life and to point yourself in the direction you are headed. It is amazing that you are taking responsibility for your life, but what changes are you making to ensure that you are moving forward in the right direction.

There is a hint of romanticism in the idea of going wherever the winds of life take you, but if we are being honest, that is mostly you and I justification our lack of purpose. Apparently, Tuesdays are for tough love, but hey, let me take a moment to sprinkle in some encouragement. The fact that you are even reading this right now tells me that you want to make a difference with your life. That you are not satisfied with status quo, that you are ready to take ownership of your journey, and begin to not only walk with purpose, but to walk as living, breathing beacon of hope to the world around you saying... I was created with a destiny and a purpose and I am going to do everything I can to ensure that the treasure that is inside of me, otherwise known as my potential, will not be wasted.

Today is an exciting day, because today is the day that you determine in your heart that you are moving forward by design and not by default.
